Buy Idaho encourages all Idahoans to Buy Idaho with their rebate checks from the U.S. Government Stimulus pay outs to arrive soon.

"The purpose is to stimulate the American economy", said Dale Peterson, Executive Director, "not the economy of foreign countries selling goods and services in the U.S." Peterson continued, "When you Buy American, and Buy Idaho you will usually have a better product, often at a lesser cost, with a warranty/guarantee backed by someone you can contact. Buying Idaho, and Buying American helps your fellow Idaho and American citizens to thrive in business."

The stimulus package was passed by Congress to stimulate the American economy, but if those dollars are spent on foreign goods, we stimulate foreign economies, with American dollars, further depressing our own.

Greg Koenig is this Week's Buy Idaho Member of the Week at KIDO 580 AM

This week's guest on KIDO Radio, Gret Koenig, one of the owners of  Koenig Distillery and Winery  in Caldwell. Koenig combines Old Word brandy, vodka, and wine making traditions with some of the Northwest’s finest fruit to produce classic eau-de-vie fruit brandies, premium varietal wines, and Famous Idaho® Potato vodka.

For proprietors Andy and Greg Koenig, the idea to establish a distillery and winery in Southwest Idaho has roots in Europe, where the brothers have lived for three years in their father’s hometown of Lustenau, Austria. There, pears and apples and plums were transformed into clear, distinctive spirits through the age-old art of distillation.

At home in Idaho, some of the Northwest’s finest fruit was being grown on the Sunny Slope, near where their mother’s family had homesteaded and made wine during the Great Depression two generations earlier. The concept of traditionally distilling this high-quality fruit into world-class brandies provided the foundation on which the Koenig brothers slowly built the Koenig Distillery and Winery, where you are invited to taste and see the results of the unique combination of the Old World and the New.

Every Thursday at 8:55 a.m. KIDO Radio hosts Dave Burnett and Bryon Norton interview a Buy Idaho member about their business. The interview is an informal question and answer session about the member's business, the products or services they provide contact information, such as address, phone numbers and web site address. The interview is designed to help Buy Idaho members sell more.
